Ramen Shop Log Sheet

A sheet for jotting down the shops and menu items you tried, your ratings for the broth, noodles, and toppings, an overall score, plus the visit date and notes. Keep your ramen-hopping records on a single page and look back on your favorite bowls anytime.

Download CSVCSV format · free (opens in Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)

What it's for

  • When you have finally visited a shop you had been curious about and want to write down your impression of the taste before it fades
  • When you want to rate the broth, noodles, and toppings item by item to get a feel for your own preferences
  • When you want to keep a running list of shops you would like to return to or dishes you want to order next time
  • When a friend asks for a recommendation and you want to look back over your past bowls to suggest one

What's included

A field for the shop name and location (with a note for the nearest station or area)
A visit date field (write in the day you went)
A field for the menu item you ordered (shoyu, miso, tsukemen, and so on)
A broth rating field (note the richness and your preference on a five-point scale or similar)
A noodle rating field (your impression of thickness, firmness, and texture)
A topping rating field (notes on chashu, seasoned egg, and other toppings)
An overall rating field (record how satisfying the bowl was with a score or stars)
A free notes field (reminders such as wanting to return or what to order next time)

Notes on managing with paper or Excel

  • As records for different shops pile up, it becomes hard to reorder them by highest rating or by your preferred style.
  • If the sheet is not on hand while you are out, you cannot write anything, and filling it all in later tends to blur your memory of the taste.
  • Lose the sheet or notebook and you lose all of your ramen-hopping records at once.
  • When you want to keep a photo of the storefront or the bowl alongside your notes, paper makes attaching it a chore.

Why an app makes it easier

  • You can record your broth, noodle, topping, and overall ratings on the spot, so there is less chance of forgetting to write something down later.
  • Because you can attach a photo to each bowl, it is easier to look back with both the taste and the image in mind.
  • You can reorder the shops you logged by rating or by style to see where your favorites lean.
  • All of your past ramen hopping stays gathered inside the app, so there is no worry of losing it the way paper can be lost.
